The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo…. The Girl who played with Fire… The Girl who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest

I read the first book and was hooked. The end and climax were disappointing but I liked the characters. The book is about Blomkvist who is a journalist, editor and part owner of a newspaper. When one of his stories goes wrong he takes a break to solve the mystery of a missing girl. Salander is a complex person with many skills except one- she has no social skills. She is a loner and does not like making friends. She works as a researcher at a security firm. Blomkvist hires her for his research and she ends up saving his life from a killer. They also sleep around. At the end of book 1, she has fallen in love with him but he has gone back to his previous fuck buddy.
In the 2nd book, Salander is accused of murdering a journalist working with Blomkvist. She is also accused of murdering her guardian. Blomkvist proves her innocence and catches the real killer who is her father and half brother.
It was while reading the 3rd book, I realized that all 3 books are linked. They are not just about some mysteries solved by Blomkvist and Salander. It all starts with her torturous childhood which ultimately leads to the murder of the journalist.
Loved the last book.

  1. Did you not like the second and third book so much? I found the third book a little tedious to get over with. The trial and court room scenes take ages to get by. Overall I am big fan of Lisabeth , the character. Haven’t seen such a strong heroine in a any book so far.

  2. I found the climax of the 1st book weak. Also, it seemed like a mystery story with interesting characters. It is the 2nd book through which I got to know them better… and 3rd book is the closure. Thats why I prefer them to the 1st one.
